Bringing the visionary concept of Over Studio to life for Tomaz Wines required not just creativity but also meticulous technical precision. Achieved through advanced technology and expert prepress at Etikgraf, these labels showcase a flawless synthesis of technology and design, culminating in a piece of art that transcends the ordinary.
Artworks and the Motovun terroir as inspiration
At the heart of each Tomaz label lies an impressive brown frame, highlighted by the blind embossing technique and elevated from the background textures of oak, earth, and water. Captured in detailed macro photography, transformed into complex graphics, and printed on the labels with copper foil stamping, each of the background motifs is carefully chosen to tell the story of the Motovun terroir. The sparkling wines of Tomaz draw inspiration from the Mirna River, with motifs that represent the life-giving oxygen bubbles in the water. For the line of fresh wines, the focus shifts to the distinctive soil of Motovun, marked by its characteristic cracks and unique composition. The aged wines, tamed and rounded in oak barrels, derive their motifs from the majestic oaks that dominate the enchanting forest of Motovun. On the labels for premium wines, the motif of the white truffle stands out, reflecting its status as the most exclusive delicacy of Istria.
The winemaker’s autograph, executed in black screen printing, mimics the authenticity of a signature made with black ink on canvas, adding a personal touch and enhancing the artisanal character of Tomaz Wines.
Beneath the intricate frame lies a smaller label, reminiscent of the title plaques found next to artworks in galleries.
